Where does the content come from?
From medical literature and reference guidelines, condensed and structured for studying. Every calculator shows its formula and the study behind it, and every atlas image declares its provenance and licence.
It is not a copy of any single textbook and does not replace current clinical guidelines: it is study and revision material.
Is it useful for the MIR or the USMLE?
It works as study and revision material: there are 1,371 MIR-style, 467 Step 1-style and 596 Step 2-style questions, with timed mocks and an explanation for every distractor.
To be clear: it is not an official prep course, and it is not affiliated with any academy or with the bodies that run those exams. The questions are written in-house in those exam formats; they are not official past papers.
Does Clio make things up?
It can be wrong, like any language model. That is why Clio does not answer from memory: it first searches the app's 730 guides and builds the answer over what it finds, citing which guide each claim came from so you can check it.
It is a study tool. It must not be used to decide anything about a real patient.
Does it really work offline?
Yes, with no asterisks. The guides, the atlas of 1,150 images and sounds, the 288 calculators and the questions all ship inside the app. That is why it is a big download.
The only things needing a network are Clio (it talks to a model) and cross-device sync, which is optional.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the whole app as a guest, and in that mode your data never leaves the device.
An account does exactly two things: sync your progress across devices (and restore it after a reinstall) and let you use Clio without supplying your own API key.
Is it free? Will it stop being free?
Today it is entirely free and subscriptions are not switched on — the purchase buttons are not even displayed.
When Premium exists, the guides, the atlas and the calculators will remain free. It is spelled out on the pricing page, in advance and on purpose.
Are there ads or trackers?
None. There are no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics. Nobody buys or sells what you study.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can export everything at any time, and account deletion lives inside the app rather than buried in a web form. There is also a page to request it if you have already uninstalled.
Can I use it with real patients?
No. Medorax is educational and revision material. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, it does not prescribe, and it replaces neither formal medical training nor current clinical guidelines nor a health professional's judgement.
What languages is it in?
Spanish and English, with the interface and the content complete in both. The Spanish is neutral Latin American.
