Hallazgos
Virus ADN con envoltura; identifica el antígeno de superficie (HBsAg) y el core (HBcAg).
Interpretación
El VHB causa hepatitis aguda y crónica y aumenta el riesgo de cirrosis y hepatocarcinoma.
Perla clínica
El HBsAg indica infección; el anti-HBs, inmunidad (vacuna o curación); el HBeAg, alta replicación/contagiosidad. Hay vacuna eficaz.
