Diferencia la inmunidad activa (el propio cuerpo produce anticuerpos, lenta pero duradera) de la pasiva (se administran anticuerpos ya formados, inmediata pero temporal).

Interpretación

Ambas protegen, pero difieren en rapidez, duración y en si generan memoria.

Perla clínica

Pasiva natural: IgG materna por la placenta e IgA por la leche. Pasiva artificial: inmunoglobulinas/antitoxinas (protección inmediata, p. ej. tras exposición a rabia o tétanos).
