Observa cómo el sistema inmune reconoce y ataca antígenos propios por fallo de la tolerancia.

Interpretación

La autoinmunidad surge cuando fallan la tolerancia central (timo/médula) o la periférica.

Perla clínica

Factores: predisposición genética (HLA), mimetismo molecular (fiebre reumática tras estreptococo) y pérdida de linfocitos T reguladores. Predomina en mujeres.
