Observa los dos lóbulos unidos por el istmo, por delante de la tráquea y bajo el cartílago tiroides.

Interpretación

La tiroides produce hormonas (T3/T4) que regulan el metabolismo y la calcitonina.

Perla clínica

Las paratiroides (calcio) están en la cara posterior de la tiroides; su lesión en la cirugía tiroidea causa hipocalcemia.
